Our Story

May 10, 2010 by Lindsay Harmon Burnett
Jesse and I began dating while we were in high school (about 11 years ago). We also attended the same college - Arkansas State University. We got married in September 2006. We have 3 awesome dogs.

Roxy (our little mutt) is 8 years old. Jesse was playing golf one day and this little puppy walked up to him and it was over. Roxy had picked her daddy. She was covered in dirt, fleas and ticks. Jesse cleaned her up and called me over to his parents house to meet the little lady. Of course when we left their house it was Roxy's first car ride and needless to say she got sick (ALL over the back seat of my car). Roxy is named after one of Jesse's favorite 80's songs - Roxanne by The Police. She is also known as Tootie.

Frankie (beagle/basset mix) was my 21st birthday present. Frankie's birthday is March 27th. He is 6 years old. Frankie is named after Frank Sinatra (my favorite singer). He has many nicknames - Frank the Tank, Tank, Franker, Tator, Ta-Ta, and many many more. Frank has many odd habits, his nose gets him in trouble quite often. He enjoys getting into the trash, drinking out of the toilet and dragging his butt all over the carpet. He's a true blue dog. He's also quite the howler.

Sammy Dean (miniature dapple dachshund) was our first dog we obtained together as a married couple. He was born on Cinco de Mayo. He is 3 years old. Sammy is named after Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. If you can't guess by now I am a BIG fan of the Rat Pack. Sammy Dean is our little cuddle buddy. He loves to burrow under blankets and sleep right next to you. He also has little man syndrome and thinks he rules the roost.

    Lindz and Jess~

I remember when I met you both in college! Some of my best memories in life started with you, and they continue today!

I met Lindsay while participating in ASU's Greek recruitment. I was just a little fish in the big sea- I felt so lost at first! Life led us to different paths when it came time to select a sorority, but that never stopped Lindsay and her sisters from befriending me. There was never the stereotypical “caddy” attitude associated with “Greek rivalry/competition” with Lindsay or her close AOÏ€ sisters. To this day, I still keep in touch with these girls and I'm so thankful for their friendships!

I met Jesse in college as well. I cheered with several guys in his fraternity (yes, ASU cheerleaders, and yes the guys were tough, manly men-PROMISE!). Over the years, I attended Greek events, philanthropy fundraisers, intramural games (and almost always the championships for the PIKES!), and ASU events and Jesse always made a point to make sure everyone was comfortable, and having a great time!

Our paths crossed again when I met Lane. The Harmon and Burnett families have been so kind hearted, welcoming, and accommodating to our families since day one! After a whirlwind wedding announcement (planning a wedding in THREE weeks!), Lindsay’s organizational and creative skills kicked into high gear! She helped us so much with our special day- we absolutely could NOT have done it without her, Jesse, and her family!

She took amazing photographs, and remained so cool, calm, and collected in warm weather conditions, and lots of excitement! Her knack for photography, eye for creativity, and ability to capture the intimacy and essence of our wedding will remain unmatched in our book!

The Holmes’ family is proud to call you all "friend"! Keep up the incredible work Lindsay! And Jesse, thank you for all of your support throughout the photo adventures! ;)
